Canterbury highway closed after crash

The Geraldine-Fairlie Highway in Canterbury is closed after two vehicles crashed.

The accident took place in Middle Valley at the intersection with Bracefield Road around 11.25am, police said in a statement on Tuesday afternoon.

"Two people are said to be in serious condition, and three others have minor to moderate injuries."

The serious crash unit is investigating and the intersection is closed.
