Police have revealed the man they are urgently hunting for in relation to a Pahīatua homicide is Jeremy Robertson, who is in his fifties, and have appealed for sightings - but warn people not to approach him.
A woman was found dead at a home in Arthur Street, Pahīatua, on Wednesday 15 October, and officers have been searching for the man since.
Robertson had been driving a red Mitsubishi ASX SUV, with the registration QGU91, which was found on Wednesday, Senior sergeant Dave Thompson said.
"This vehicle was taken from the victim's address in Pahiatua, and Police located it unoccupied at the Blue and Green Lakes lookout on Tarawera Road, Rotorua," he said.
"Police are keen to hear from anyone that may have seen this vehicle, in this area, between 2am on Wednesday 15, and 8am on Thursday 16 October."
"We are also interested in any sightings of Jeremy in the Tarawera Road, Rotorua area from Wednesday 15 October."

It was not clear if Robertson was still in the area or had left, Thompson said. He was described as being a solid build.
"Should you see him, do not approach him but call 111 immediately and advise Police," he said.
