The National Party's Chris Bishop is speaking to Checkpoint after special votes confirmed his party and ACT would need NZ First to form a government.
National leader Christopher Luxon says he's not surprised his party dropped two seats in the special votes, and it doesn't change the approach he's taken with coalition negotiations.
Luxon says negotiations with ACT and New Zealand First over the last three weeks have been in goodwill and good faith, and that will continue.
ACT Party leader David Seymour is hoping for some "rapid and productive discussion between the three parties", now that final results show National and ACT can not govern alone.
