Prime Minister Christopher Luxon is being smeared by a website using his name and image which purports to share his favourite pornography.
The site - which has been registered as chrisluxon.org - uses National's traditional blue branding, and links to several porn and hookup sites, including BangBros, AdultFriendFinder, F**kbook and Fling.com.
"Kia ora fellow New Zealanders, this is Chris Luxon!" the page says. "Today, I am proud to announce my favourite porn sites to help you relax. Cheers and enjoy!"
Speaking at his first post-Cabinet media conference of the year, Luxon told reporters he had just been informed late this afternoon.
"It's obviously fake," he said. "It's an issue for the National Party to pick up."
In a statement, a spokesperson for the party said the site was "operating with malicious intent" and was not in any way authorised by National or its leader.
"We have reported the website to the relevant authorities - including CERT NZ (New Zealand's Computer Emergency Response Team) who are investigating the site and its misuse of National Party branding and photos."
The website also links to a "disclaimer" which states that the page is a "satire and parody publication".
"All content contained within this website and on accompanying social media accounts, however similar to real events, is fictitious."
