Rio 2016 Olympics - New Zealand swimmer Matthew Stanley has pulled out of the mens 400m freestyle event on the eve of the Rio games.

Stanley recently injured his ankle and has decided to focus his attention on the 100m and 200m freestyle events which begin tomorrow.
The 24-year-old finished 15th in the heats of the 400m freestyle at the London games in 2012.
