  • Ireland have defeated England 27-22 in Dublin in the first weekend of the 2025 Six Nations tournament.
  • After an early try to debutant Caden Murley the English led 10-5 at halftime, despite losing Marcus Smith to the sin bin for 10 minutes.
  • However, the English couldn't hold off a clinical Irish fightback in the second half. Tries to Bundee Aki, Tadgh Beirne and Dan Sheehan established a 27-10 lead with 10 minutes to play. England fought back to score two consolation tries to Tom Curry and Tommy Freeman.
  • The Irish-Kiwi connection of Jamison Gibson-Park and James Lowe were outstanding for the home side, with Gibson-Park being named man of the match.
