Matildas captain Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis have welcomed their first child together.

Kerr shared the news in a post to Instagram on Thursday evening.

"Our little man is here, Jagger Mewis-Kerr," she wrote.

The Matildas congratulated the couple on their official Instagram page.

"Welcome to the Tillies fam, Jagger! Congratulations to mums Sam and Kristie on the arrival of their beautiful baby boy!"

Kerr, 31, and Mewis, 34, announced their pregnancy in November last year.

The footballers have been in a relationship since 2021 and got engaged in late 2023. They first met in 2019 during a US National Women's Soccer League tournament match.

Mewis, an American national, represents the US national team and also plays as a midfielder for the West Ham United club in England's Women's Super League.

Kerr has captained the Australian national women's football team since 2019.

She was absent for more than a year after suffering an ACL injury in January 2024, but was ruled eligible to return as captain in March.
