Melbourne Storm playmaker Cameron Munster has been named Queensland State of Origin captain for their must win game against New South Wales.
He replaces former skipper Daly Cherry-Evans, who was dropped after the 18-6 loss in the series opener.
Cherry-Evans had previously steered the Maroons to Origin series wins in 2020 and 2022-23.
Game two in the best of three series is in Perth next Wednesday.
The must-win Perth clash will now carry extra significance for Munster, who will also notch up his 20th Origin match.
Canterbury Bulldogs forward Kurt Mann will also make his Origin debut.
