The Maori radio station, Tumeke FM, in Whakatane secured the national title of Iwi Station of the Year at Thursday night's New Zealand Radio Awards in Auckland.
Te Kuiti-based Maniapoto FM won the Best Maori Language Broadcast award category for its mid-morning show, Te Whitiki o te Ki, a totally te reo Maori programme, which featured comedy, and promoted the tribe's uniqueness or Ngati Maniapototanga.
The show ended in October last year.
