Planning parenthood

Since taking over the helm of Planned Parenthood America in 2006, Cecile Richards has transformed it into a political force.

Reproductive health was a key issue in the 2012 presidential election, and Planned Parenthood actively campaigned as it fielded attacks from politicians and the media.

In June, Cecile was back in her native Texas, as the state senate attempted to pass a bill that would create huge restrictions on abortion. She was there as Senator Wendy Davis filibustered the bill – standing and talking for 11 hours to prevent a vote being taken.

Cecile was here for the Family Planning New Zealand conference, and Megan asked her what differences she sees between here and the US.
