The results for the US election are coming in and the Republicans have retained control of the Senate.
By midnight in Washington DC a Donald Trump victory is looking a lot more certain than it was 12 hours ago - and though it may be some time before the final result is known, initial results are coming in as the last few big states close their polls. Trump is preparing to address supporters in Florida at some point, while Kamala Harris will not address the nation this evening.
Earlier there were queues, hoax bomb threats - believed to be from Russian sources - at polling stations, a ballot-scanning glitch in one county, and forecast storm for part of th country.
