Since this episode aired, the government announced plans to launch a feebate scheme which would slap a $3,000 fee on imported vehicles with high greenhouse gas emissions and discounts of up to $8,000 for zero-emission vehicles.
The Government finished the consultation phase last month and hopes to have some action later in the year.
