Sometimes we can escape the hustle and bustle, sometimes we can't.
Which is where this week's Sonic Moment of Calm comes in; there on the corner of two busy city streets, a busker, dressed as a tree serenades the traffic and the passers-by with a medley of saxophone tunes.

Tree might not be the best dressed saxophonist in town, but given the vegetation it has to negotiate, and the competition from the street noise, the music is pretty good.
RNZ Concert's Bryan Crump just happened to have his recording device with him when he came across the scene one afternoon.
Tree has been busking around Wellington for several years. We don't know exactly who's inside Tree's costume, maybe there's more than one, sharing the job.
What counts, is the music, and it's calming effect, that human touch, as the sound fades into the traffic as you walk on by, having maybe left behind some spare change.
