For this week's "sonic" Moment of Calm RNZ Concert's Bryan Crump took his recording device into the hills not far from his home along a popular track called the Highbury Fling.
He'd noticed one part of the path which gets a lot of sun was something of a biological hotspot, as in lots of birdsong.
There weren't quite as many birds on the sunny Autumn day he went recording, but there was one particularly chatty Tieke (saddleback) enough of a reason we think to share this recording with you to listen to in your own time.
