The Media Industry Development Authority is looking into the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation's flouting of tough political advertising laws.
The FBC ignored a ban on political advertising the day before Wednesday's election by having a link on its homepage for the regime's FijiFirst Party.
FBC editors or owners risk a five-year jail sentence for running the link which said it was paid for by the party's General Secretary, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum who also is the minister responsible for the elections.
The head of MIDA, Ashwin Raj, says he has raised the matter with the FBC, which has launched an internal investigation.
However, he says they have assured him the advertisement was taken down on Sunday.
