The Northern Marianas tourism body wants Rota and Tinian islands developed into unique destinations to spur economic activity.
The Marianas Visitors Authority board member, Jerry Tan, wants the tourism body to examine the potential and opportunity of Rota and Tinian as tourist destinations.
Presently, all the emphasis is on Saipan, but Mr Tan said if the Authority can ensure Rota and Tinian offer a great experience for tourists, it makes the CNMI a better destination overall.
He said the move differentiate the CNMI from Guam, and bring the Commonwealth closer to destinations such as Hawaii.
