Fiji prosecutors say no charges will be laid over a television programme on the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation which was allegedly racist and defamatory.
Several people took issue with the Wasea Bhasha programme last month and reported the FBC to the police and the Media Industry Development Authority.
The FBC apologised for the broadcast and its CEO Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum then sacked the programme producer Nemani Bainivalu.
The Director of Public Prosecutions Christopher Pryde said there was insufficient evidence to charge anyone with inciting communal antagonism.
He said a broadcast must do more than simply insult or cause offence to people.
The Media Industry Development Authority has also been investigating the complaint but is yet to release its findings.
