New Zealand has announced the first ministerial trip to Tokelau in more than a decade.
Civil Defence Minister Kris Faafoi will visit the territory next week alongside Administrator Ross Ardern, where they will meet with village councils
Mr Faafoi, who is Tokelauan, is the first New Zealand government minister to visit Tokelau since Prime Minister Helen Clark in 2004.
He will also meet with Samoan Deputy Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa in Apia.
"It's really a special honour for me to undertake this trip, both as a member of the coalition government that has enabled a really positive Pacific reset, and as the son of proud Tokelauan parents - I am truly honoured," Mr Faafoi said.
