There is concern in American Samoa that the US Army Reserve's indoor shooting range is being built near schools.
Member of the American Samoa House of Representatives Larry Sanitoa said he felt strongly that the concerns raised by the parents, teachers and residents should be addressed as the shooting range is between the South Pacific Academy gym and Tafuna High School classrooms.
He said there were other suitable locations for a shooting range but it should not be next to schools.
Mr Sanitoa said it was advisable for the House to hold a hearing and invite the Army Reserve leaders to address these concerns.
The Army Reserve has scheduled public meetings next Sunday and Monday for residents to receive information about the facility.
