Today is the third day of search and rescue efforts in American Samoa for a 16-year-old boy who was washed out to sea off Tula village on the eastern end of Tutuila island.
The boy was trying to save two younger brothers who were caught in the riptide.
The Department of Public Safety and Department of Marine and Wildlife Resources have deployed their boats in the search.
Divers are searching the reefs for the boy while village aumaga or untitled men are combing beaches to see if he was washed ashore.
Normally such search efforts are called off after 72 hours.
However, a call has been issued for volunteer divers to help with the search.
