The Papua New Guinea government is looking at various ways to increase cooperation with Israel.

  • This comes after Ambassador Henry Mokono presented his credentials to Israeli President Isaac Herzog in Jerusalem on 1 October.

    He is the first PNG envoy to Israel and the only one, apart from Australia, representing the Pacific.

    PNG opened its Embassy in Jerusalem last year, becoming just the fifth nation to do so, a move in defiance of international law.

    The Post-Courier reported that Mokono reassured PNG's support to the people and state of Israel.
