Maggie Tweedie
Maggie Tweedie is a broadcaster and journalist from the East Coast of New Zealand. With over a decade of experience in the media industry, Maggie began her career in community radio in Wellington (Poneke) before moving to Australia. There, she worked with SYN Media in Melbourne, covering major events like the Falls Festival and creating a feminist podcast.
In 2018, Maggie achieved a significant milestone as the first solo female Breakfast Host at Radioactive.FM for six years. Alongside her radio career, Maggie writes for prominent New Zealand publications such as North & South and The Spinoff and works as an MC, hosting interviews with authors at readers and writers' festivals.
Now based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Maggie hosts RNZ Music Pocket Edition every Wednesday from 11 p.m. to midnight and contributes to various shows on RNZ National, including the award-winning podcast Country Life. She is also a newsreader and serves as an alternate presenter on several programmes, including Nights, Culture 101, The Sunday Sampler, and Music 101.
