1.35 The art of mushroom foraging

It's autumn, which means it's mushroom season, and a growing community of dedicated foragers are out searching for edible fungi.

One such forager lives in Raumati up the coast of Wellington. Christian Boedeker is originally from Germany where there is a strong tradition of mushroom foraging, and he's bought his expertise here.

He gathers enough to provide a good mushroom-based meal for his family every week.

He's also passionate about sharing his skills and delivers lectures on how to identify them.

The Netflix drama Adolescence is sparking a conversation about toxic masculinity and the radicalization of young boys from the online manosphere.  But our preoccupation with the extreme example of a 13 year old murdering his classmate overshadows the daily and more mundane expressions of misogyny in schools say  Dr Stephanie Wescott.
