Hawke's Bay Arts Festival kicks off next week and it's marking its 10th anniversary.
From the 9-19th October, live music, dance, theatre, circus and a range of exhibitions will be presented across Hastings, Havelock North and Napier.
Like many events, it took a break last year, and the festival says the return is a reminder of how art can shape stronger and more resilient communities and a call to keep going; pertinent for the region which has faced extreme weather issues.
Festival director, Jade Baker, speaks to Culture 101 about putting on a festival outside the main centres, the relationships with the community and what the festival has to offer this year.
