From First Up, 5:25 am today

This week's featured Op Shop is Hospice Wairarapa. They have a store in Masterton and Greytown. Melissa talked with Sam Millward.

A massive collection of vintage clothing has been donated to Hospice Wairarapa. Sam Millward says the donation means enormous for the charity.

One of the vintage pieces donated is a Dorothy Perkins dress from the 1960’s. It's a volunteer's favorite at the store.

It is a Cotton Terylene mix and is a size 16 c1960’s, which is probably a size 12 today. The sizing change over the last 50 years are notable.

Sam says it has interesting bust darts and is well made. Her styling advice is to be worn with knee high white boots and probably an under dress.

Volunteers upcycle unsold clothing items into functional everyday products. Pictured here are ottomans made using unsold jeans and filled with other clothing items.
