Concisting of Ramon York on guitars, Ross Muir on bass and keyboards, Mark Jayet on drums, and André Jayet on Mellotron and Moog, Ragnarok played every pub in the country performing a repertoire sourced from 2 albums. For their debut album they were joined by vocalist Lea Maalfrid who contributed an additional level of sonic and song writing competence.
They were a band who had high production values and owned the first mellotron imported into the country and their own PA. The band’s debut 1974 album has just been re-issued. Founding member Andre Jayet sadly passed away in 2020.. Mark Jayet and Lea Maalfrid talk to Trevor Reekie about Ragnarok for Music 101.
