Pōneke-based musician Michael Llewellyn returns with I’m Gorgeous – a sophomore record of gravelly grace and lyrical weight. It’s a work that reveals a maturing songwriter, unafraid to dig deeper.
Joining Maggie Tweedie in the RNZ studios for Music 101, Llewellyn brings some of these new, storied songs to life. Alongside his bandmate Arran Cargill-Brown, he performs 'Home Sometime', 'Marmalade Honey' and 'I'm Gorgeous' off the new record, recorded live by RNZ studio engineer André Upston.

I'm Gorgeous features a rich cast of local musicians and a wide range of instruments – trumpet, violin, and layered percussion – creating a vivid musical world around each track. Llewellyn’s partner, Isabella Smith, also lends her voice, her harmonies adding warmth and texture throughout the album.
