Christchurch police are investigating the burglary of eight businesses in an overnight smash-and-grab raid.
Seven businesses on New Regent Street were broken into, as well as one on Racecourse Road.
Police said a stolen Toyota Mark X turned onto New Regent Street about 4am, and four occupants dressed in hoodies, masks and gloves began smashing windows of the businesses.
The offenders left in the vehicle, taking a number of items.
The vehicle was believed to have been involved in the burglary of a bar on Racecourse Road about 20 minutes later.
"Police are working with the victims to establish what has been taken, but we would like to hear from anyone who has information, including dashcam footage that shows a black Toyota saloon in the vicinity of New Regent Street or Racecourse Road at the time of the offending," a police spokesperson said.
