Auckland police have uncovered a cache of firearms and ammunition, while investigating a stolen motorbike.
The Waitematā Gang Disruption Unit searched a Glendene property on Wednesday, and found three pistols, three rifles, a modified firearm and parts, and dozens of rounds of ammunition.
Methamphetamine paraphernalia was also located.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Williams said a 51-year-old man, who is an associate of the Head Hunters Motorcycle Gang, has been charged with drugs and firearms offences.
He was due to appear in the Waitākere District Court, charged with unlwaful possession of a pistol, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlwaful possession of ammunition and possession of methamphetamine utensils.
"We are incredibly pleased with the outcome of Wednesday's search warrant," he said.
"This represents yet more firearms being taken out of circulation in the public, with offenders being held to account."
The search for the stolen motorbike continues.
