A man who was found dead after he was hit by a car on a highway near Queenstown earlier this month has now been named.
Emergency services found the man near Kawarau Bridge Historic Reserve, on State Highway 6, at 10pm on 3 March.
He was 22-year-old Ryoma Seki from Japan.
Police have revealed further details of the accident, and said Seki fell from a cliff before he was struck by the car.
His cause of death will be determined by the Coroner.
Police said they were not planning on laying any charges in connection to Seki's death.
