Police have named a woman found dead in her Pahiatua home last week.

Karen Gilbert-Palmer, 74, was found dead at a home in Arthur Street on Wednesday 15 October.

Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thompson said police were supporting Gilbert-Palmer's family and keeping them updated on the investigation.

Police have now been searching for Jeremy Robertson in relation to the death for a week.

"The investigation is now focused into locating Jeremy Robertson and police continue to seek information regarding his whereabouts," said Thompson.

"Police would like to speak with Jeremy, who is in his 50s and is of solid build.

"We also continue to appeal for information from the public including any information about a red, late-model Mitsubishi ASX VRX station wagon, registration QGU91."

Thompson said Robertson should not be approached, and anybody who saw him should call 111 immediately.
