Facial Eczema

Prolonged, mild weather in Autumn appears to have caused high rates of facial eczema in sheep in some parts of the North Island and may be causing lower pregnancy rates.

Vet and researcher Winston Mason says many dairy farmers are failing to prevent facial eczema despite taking measures to keep it at bay.

Farmers are being warned to keep a close eye on their stock as facial eczema spore counts rise around the country.
