This week's Moment of Calm is a familiar night time sound over the summer, crickets.
However, with this Summer getting off to a slow start (remember all the southerly stuff in January?) RNZ Concert host Bryan Crump had to venture quite a long way north to find some.

These crickets were chirping in a Hawkes Bay paddock at little ways out from Napier. There's a few houses and a country road nearby. Along with our singing insects, you can also hear a dog barking and a car rushing by.
But the crickets, they just keep on chirping.
