Sometimes the wonders of the world are just outside your door.
Sometimes they're just outside the door of your local bus.
This week's Sonic Moment of Calm captures something which happens on a regular basis after dark at the terminus of the No 25 bus to the Wellington suburb of Highbury; when the bus switches off its motor, you hear Kiwi calling from the Zealandia Eco Sanctuary, which is less than 30 metres away.
RNZ Concert's Bryan Crump was sitting at the bus stop bathed in the light of a full moon when it all unfolded the other evening, from the bus arriving, to the Kiwi calling, to the bus heading off down the hill and into the night.
