Vanuatu's 52 Members of Parliament could receive over $US3.3 million worth of gratuities at the end of their term when the 11th legislature closes on 22 January.
The Vanuatu Daily Post reports a source within the Parliamentary secretariat has told the newspaper that each MP will receive over $64,000 each for serving the country for four years.
The 2020 budget has to be endorsed in order for the MPs to receive the payments.
The gratuity pay-out does not include other benefits for current ministers.
